We know that updating your wardrobe tends to leave those older styles thrown to the side, unwanted and unused. So, we’ve come up with a charitable and sustainable solution where our UK customers can donate via our Online Clothing Bank, in partnership with The Salvation Army. Now you might be wondering what an online clothing bank actually is, let us explain…

What is an online clothing bank?

An online clothing bank makes it easier for you to donate your unwanted and unused clothing, saving you the hassle of physically going to a charity shop. All you have to do is visit our super savvy Online Clothing Bank Portal, generate a free returns label and send your donations directly to The Salvation Army via DPD, Collect+ or InPost.

This fuss-free method of donating your unwanted and unused items is not only a huge help to The Salvation Army but it’s also a more sustainable way of clearing out your wardrobe - and you’ll even get an exclusive Bo+Tee discount code as a reward for doing it. So it really is a win-win!

Why is it important?

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on many sectors but particularly on charities, with 28% of people cutting their charity donations since the start of the crisis. By launching this initiative, we’re aiming to make a change and support this important charity.

We’re also pushing to increase our ongoing sustainability project. By joining this initiative, we’re taking steps towards combating the throwaway fashion crisis that sees more than 336,000 tonnes of clothing end up in landfill every year.

Why The Salvation Army?

These generous donations help to change the lives of many. The profits received from the resale of these pieces go towards The Salvation Army, to enable them to continue the vital charity work they do throughout the UK.

Did you know that The Salvation Army provides specialist support for survivors and potential victims of modern slavery? They also provide shelter to those experiencing homelessness throughout the UK, and so much more!

The Salvation Army’s trading arm, SATCoL, repurpose over 60,000 tonnes of second hand textiles. SATCoL delivers a message of hope through sustainable efforts and develops strategies to help protect the planet, one donation at a time. Your donations play a huge part in continuing to create change. So far we’ve raised over £3,000!

What can I donate?

Preloved clothing, shoes and accessories from any brand can be donated in return for your Bo+Tee discount code! Whether these are brand new pieces with the labels still on, or well worn items, you can donate clothing, shoes and accessories in any condition.

Even if something is damaged, the material could be used for repairs or as part of a new piece of clothing, so send anything that you’re wanting to get rid of. As long as your parcel is secure, no heavier than 20kg and with no 2 sides longer than 120cm, send anything that you have. Then, sit back and wait to receive your Bo+Tee discount code!
