THE BRANNERSON FOUNDATION
We are a brand with a purpose, giving a percentage of our profits every month to The Brannerson Foundation, a charity based in Cambodia. The charity was founded by Mike Branney and Claire Henderson, the Managing Director and CEO of Bo&Tee. Every purchase made at Oh Polly helps to support a number of children in one of the poorest regions in the world.
The charity runs a free English language school and contributes to the funding of scholarships and support programmes for children growing up in families with disabled, disadvantaged or widowed adults in Cambodia’s Siem Reap region.
Since 2020 we have donated a total of £357,373.01 to the Brannerson Foundation.
DONATE FOR A DISCOUNT
IIn 2021, in collaboration with The Salvation Army, we were the first retailer to launch an Online Clothing Bank, allowing our UK customers to donate their pre-loved clothing or non-wearable textiles in return for a Bo&Tee discount.
These clothes are processed by the Salvation Army (SATCoL) and predominantly resold in their charity shops. Those that can't be resold are processed using Fibersort™ technology. They'll either be recycled into new garments or repurposed and downcycled.
This means that you don't have to throw anything away, simply donate any pre-loved clothing or non-wearable textiles through our platform in return for a 20% discount.
So far, alongside our sister company Oh Polly, we've raised £3,488.86 and diverted 1872 KG of clothing from landfill through resale.
SHOUT
SHOUT 85258 is the UK's first 24/7 text service for anyone in crisis. Anyone in the UK can text 85258 at any time of day or night to speak to a trained Shout volunteer. Since its launch, Shout has had 1.9 million conversations with 650,000 children, young people and adults in distress. 74% of these conversations take place outside the hours of 9am-5pm indicating the importance of their 24/7 service.
Bo&Tee has been working with SHOUT since May 2023 during Mental Health Awareness month, so far we have donated £5.1K. By the end of 2023 we aim to have raised 10K.
Every £10 donated to Shout helps someone in distress to access an hour of mental health support. £250 can train a volunteer and £20K keeps the Shout service running for 24 hours to provide 24/7 support.
