5 Step Healthy Daily Routine
- Team Bo+Tee
Here at Bo+Tee, we're all about looking good and feeling good. We know that setting goals, nailing that workout routine and keeping a balanced diet are some of the key ingredients to getting your physical and mental wellbeing on track. Although we might be biased, of course we think a new gym outfit helps along the way!
Everyone has their own relationship with food and exercise, so it's easy to get lost in the world of meal prep and macros. This kind of makes it feel like a chore, and we're just not about that life. Working out is fun; it gives you a way to destress and just focus on you.
Keep reading to find out our top five tips to having a healthy daily routine - some of them might even surprise you...
Introducing Our 5 Step Healthy Daily Routine
#1. Focus on YOU
Team, make yourself a priority! Working out is an incredible way to get some much needed 'me time,' so pull on those gym leggings, pop your headphones in and get ready to sweat with our first healthy daily routine step!
Once you feel at home in the gym, it can become your safe place, the place you go after a long day to unwind and release some tension.
Focusing on yourself also means forgetting about what other people are doing. We can all get caught up in what we see on social media and think that we aren't making progress, or that we need to have the same diet and exercise plan as our favourite influencer. But the truth is, everyone has a different body, and it's about what works best for you when it comes to this step in our healthy daily routine!
#2. Mental Health Matters
Your brain is just as important as your body, which is where the next step of our healthy daily routine comes in. It's easy to have tunnel vision and just think about how your body looks, especially if you've got a holiday or a big event coming up, but remember your brain loves a workout too!
Weight lifting and running are amazing ways to melt away any stress you might be feeling. Exercise engages your body, gives your mind something to focus on and gets you to concentrate on the present moment. After 20 minutes of breaking a sweat, you'll have pretty much forgotten about that sarcy message from your boss. Almost.
Eating a balanced diet, and getting enough water, are great methods of improving your mental wellbeing. You've probably heard that staying hydrated during a workout is pretty essential, but it's also brilliant for your mental health. Upping your regular water intake can lower your anxiety and boost your mood - and it gives you an excuse to get a cute water bottle.
#3. Create a Routine
Don't you just feel like such a boss ass babe when you've got your routine down? Okay, so waking up early to exercise or heading to the gym straight after the office might not feel totally normal at first, but it won't take long until it becomes second nature.
Splitting your weekly workout between upper body and lower body or assigning each day a different muscle group will make things more manageable and keep you on track to achieve your targets. You don't want to exhaust your body by trying to hit every muscle group in one day, especially if you're a newbie.
Having a workout routine will not only make your schedule more manageable, but it's also good for your mental health. Having a set regime for sleep, food and exercise is linked with better physical and mental wellbeing. (Mental Health America)
As well as this it’s important to make sure you get your daily dose of fresh air. Start your day with a gentle stroll or 30 minutes outside with a cuppa. Trust us; your body and mind will thank you for it.
#4. Think About Your Goals
Like we mentioned, having a healthy daily routine will help you achieve your goals, but sometimes we need a little extra nudge to get moving. Get a cute journal to write down your aims, set positive reminders on your phone, and leave special sticky notes around the house to encourage yourself along the journey.
A personal trainer can really help you on your path to a healthier, happier you. They're going to tell you how to take active steps towards your goals, like sorting out a food and exercise plan that fits your day-to-day life. They will soon become a normal part of your healthy daily routine.
Also, using apps is such a good way to keep your goals in mind. Apps like My Fitness Pal and LifeSum let you track your water intake, add progress pictures and record workouts. Seeing how far you've come will keep you focused, and it's like having a personal trainer in your pocket!
#5. Let's Be Real
Life can get pretty hectic sometimes and being a realist is important. As much as having a workout routine can be great, it's also super important to relax, let go and have fun!
You don't need to monitor your calories every single day, you don't have to be perfect to see progress, and yes, we all deserve a cheat day. So remember to fully enjoy date night with boo, dinner with the family, and your best friend's birthday.
Moving more, making fitness fun and eating a balanced diet will have you feeling incredible from the inside out, which are all great steps in creating your healthy daily routine. Plus, a new Bo+Tee matching gym set wouldn't hurt…
