5 Gym Motivation Tips To Smash Your Workouts!
- Team Bo+Tee
Do you feel yourself struggling to focus throughout the day or feel as though you’re lacking gym motivation to stick to a good fitness routine? Then don’t panic, you’re not alone. We thought we’d share our top tips on how to be your best self, find gym motivation and most importantly keep at it.
1. Find A Routine That Works For You
You don’t need to go from zero to hero and you don’t need to be in the gym 5 times a week every week. If you work long hours and you struggle for free time then why not try going 2-3 times a week, before or after your shift. Or, if you get a long enough break for your lunch then you could use this time to get out of the office and head to the gym for an hour.
2. Take It Easy
You shouldn’t feel pressure to go all the time and you shouldn’t kick yourself for those sessions you miss or that long lie you’ve been needing. Take it easy and do what feels right for you. You could even start going with a friend. This would help to keep you both motivated and it’ll increase your chances of sticking to your plan.
3. Meet New People For Gym Motivation
If you don’t have a friend who enjoys going to the gym then that’s ok too. Gyms and exercise centres are the perfect place for meeting new people. Try out some new classes, such as body pump or HIIT, or join a sports club you’re interested in to boost your gym motivation. This can also be a good way to save some money, make sure to check out if your local gym offers a group membership at discounted rates!
4. Stick With It
Once you’ve found a routine that works for you, a gym you love and maybe even a friend to go with to push you to achieve those PB’s, the next step is sticking with it. As we said before, going with someone to the gym can be a really good way to keep you motivated, but it’s not the only way. If you feel like you’re hitting a bit of a slump with your gym motivation, try switching up your routine or going to new classes.
Try out the steps machine for some cardio if you feel like you usually gravitate towards the cross-trainer. Or if you tend to focus more on weight training, switch between machine and free standing so you get a variety. A matching set might just be the thing to get you up and running!
5. Don’t Beat Yourself Up
Another tip we’d love to share is, don’t beat yourself up about missing a week or enjoying a take away over the weekend. Really, who cares? Don’t dwell on the past, you don’t need to be on your game all the time, we’re all human. Live in the present and focus on today, you’ll thank yourself for it.
