Breakfast is arguably the most important meal of the day so it’s important you don’t skip it - especially if you’re training in the gym! Whether you eat a plant based diet or you just fancy switching up your usual breakfast, we know you’ll love what we’ve got in store.

3 Healthy Plant Based Breakfast Ideas 

 

Idea 1: Smoothie Bowl

 

Smoothie bowls are top of our list when it comes to healthy plant based breakfast ideas. They’re super easy to make, you don’t need many ingredients and they taste great! 

 

We’d recommend using frozen fruit like bananas and mixed berries for the base of your smoothie bowl. Whiz these together in a blender on a slow speed and add in a small amount of any plant based milk alternative. You can also add in a scoop of protein powder at this stage to help you hit your daily target. 

 

Decorate the top of your bowl with your favourite fruit, nuts or seeds and enjoy!

 

 

Idea 2: Banana & Peanut Butter Porridge 

 

Next on our list of healthy plant based breakfast ideas is banana and peanut butter porridge. This one’s also super easy to make and is perfect for chilly winter mornings.

 

Simply mix around 50g of rolled oats with a pinch of salt and 300ml plant based milk alternative, if you don’t like your porridge too creamy then we’d recommend 150ml plant based milk and 150ml water. You can also add a scoop of protein powder in at this stage, we love vanilla flavour. 

 

Place your mix into the microwave for around 4 minutes but make sure to pause every 30 seconds and stir - or it could explode! Slice fresh banana for the top, add a spoon of peanut butter and enjoy!

 

 

Idea 3: Smashed Avocado on Toast

 

Last but by no means least, we couldn’t share a list of healthy plant based breakfast ideas without including smashed avocado on toast. 

 

This breakfast really is what it says on the tin. Choose your favourite bread and toast it, personally we love sourdough. In a bowl, scoop out an avocado and mash it together with a squeeze of lemon juice, sprinkle of chilli flakes and some salt and pepper. 

 

Once your toast is ready spread your avocado mix on top and enjoy!
